Screen printing basics

Screen printing, sometimes referred to as silk screening, is a form of garment printing in which inks are pressed through a screen onto a garment, leaving a layer of ink on top of the fabric. Screen printing is the most established and widely-used form of garment printing available.

During the printing process, a set of screens (one for each color being printed) rotates around a press in a carousel motion and takes turns being pressed onto each garment.

We require vector art files to be submitted for screen print orders.

Embroidery basics

Embroidery is the processs in which a needle and thread are passed through a garment at high speed in order to stitch a design.

In this process each color is a different color of thread.

We require high-quality (150 dpi) raster PNG files to be submitted for EMB print orders. Although usually there is a fee to "Digitize" an artwork to prepare for the embroidery process.

DTG printing basics

Direct to garment (or DTG) printing involves an advanced inkjet printer laying ink directly onto a garment.

These prints are generally thinner than screenprints, allowing for more intricate designs and a softer print texture. The full range of color in a photograph or gradients of an image can be expressed.

We require high-quality (150 dpi) raster PNG files to be submitted for DTG print orders.

Sublimation printing basics

Sublimation printing occurs when ink is transferred by heat and pressure to a specially treated surface.

These prints feature vibrant, high-fidelity color and are very durable. We use sublimation printing for our phone cases, producing accurate results.

We require high-quality (150 dpi) raster PNG files to be submitted for sublimation print orders.

Offset printing basics

The most common kind of offset printing is derived from the photo offset process, which involves using light-sensitive chemicals and photographic techniques to transfer images and type from original materials to printing plates.

These prints feature vibrant, high-fidelity photorealistic images.

We require high-quality (150 dpi) raster PNG files to be submitted for offset print orders.

Large Format printing basics

Large Format refers to methods of printing from a digital based image directly to a variety of media. It usually refers to professional printing where small-run jobs from desktop publishing and other digital sources are printed using large-format and/or high-volume laser or inkjet printers.

These prints feature vibrant, high-fidelity photorealistic images.

We require high-quality (150 dpi) raster PNG files to be submitted for large format print orders.

Accentuate your designs with any one of our inks and special effects. Whether it’s adding lifelike textures by utilizing a High Density Ink or giving your image a reflective quality by adding a foil transfer, these effects will add value and distinction to your next project.

Standard Inks

Plastisol Inks

Super durable and looks great on any color garment. Our #1 customer favorite.

Formulated to achieve superior opacity and color matching accuracy, plastisol inks are the most commonly used inks for screen printed apparel. Made of PVC with an oil base for flow and viscosity.

  • The most economical and high quality ink choice for the widest variety of screen printed apparel.
  • All our standard pricing includes Plastisol Ink.
  • PMS color matching Available (Additional Fees May Apply)
Water Based Inks

Go Green! Print with the lowest environmental impact and get soft, natural results.

Water-based inks produce ultra soft prints and are the most eco-friendly inks available. Water-based inks are used by organizations with a desire to maintain a green profile and fashion-oriented companies looking for the softest-to-the-hand feel. With the consistency of water and a translucent base, designing for these inks should be reserved for minimal detail and color printed on an organic or 100% cotton fabric.

  • Environmentally friendly inks that don’t cover up the soft, natural feel of your garment.
  • PMS color matching.(Additional Fees May Apply)
  • Super soft-to-the-hand feel with bright results.
  • High detail for photographic reproduction.
  • High-end & fashion forward.

Discharge Inks

Softest Ink Option for Black & Dark Garments.

Discharge is an activator which is added to a water-based ink and when printed, removes the garments color dye. Usually, this will result in a natural sand-like color. If tinted with a color resin, the discharge will remove and replace the garment’s original color in a one-step process. Resulting color varies according to the original dye of the fabric. Some colors react to this process better than others. All discharge inks are printed on a select range of 100% cotton garments. Use this process if you want the softest possible option for black garments and want to print a design with softer edges and less detail. For a more photographic or high detail option we suggest using our hybrid printing process.

  • Environmentally friendly inks that don’t cover up the soft, natural feel of your garment.
  • PMS color matching.(Additional Fees May Apply)
  • Recomended to use with a few colors only.

Hybrid Printing Process

Print bright colors on dark garments without losing the soft, natural feel of the fabric. using a discharge base and top colors consisting of plastisol inks.

Hybrid printing process allows you to print bright, Soft Opaque Inks over a variety of dark color 100% cotton garments. This option first removes the color from the garment where your graphic will be printed using a discharge. The discharge ink that is used as a base removes the dye from the colored garment, creating a lighter (almost white) base for the print. This allows you to print bright plastisol colors on your dark garment without sacrificing style or comfort.

Specialty Inks

High Density Inks

Gives your apparel a 3-D look

Take your design to new heights with our High Density Inks! High Density Inks are printed with a special screen setup to create a squared-off print that stands up to 1/8 inch above the fabric’s surface. This results in an opaque, durable, three-dimensional print that adds texture & depth to your graphic.

This effect is limited to one ink per garment and cannot be combined with Hybrid, Foil or Discharge Ink due to the heat required to achieve each of these processes. High Density Inks cannot be used for halftone images or graphics with fine detail. They work best with solid, bold graphic areas such as text or symbols.

  • Gives your apparel a 3-D look.
  • PMS color matching. (Additional Fees May Apply)
Gel Inks

Gives your apparel a 3-D look

Get the wet look with our Super Gel Inks! Similar to High Density Inks, but with softer, rounded edges. Super Gel Inks are a transparent way to compliment drop shadows or other design effects. This ink is best used to simulate liquid or accent an area of your design. While generally printed clear, Super Gels can also be tinted in a variety of colors.

This effect is limited to one ink per garment and cannot be combined with Hybrid, Foil or Discharge Ink due to the heat required to achieve each of these processes. Gel Inks cannot be used for halftone images or graphics with fine detail. They work best with solid, bold graphic areas such as text or symbols.

  • Gives your apparel a 3-D look.
  • PMS color matching. (Additional Fees May Apply)
Puff Inks

Gives your apparel a 3-D Puffy look

Evoke 80’s nostalgia or create a throwback look to your raglan or trucker cap with Puff Inks. Puff Inks are a great economic alternative to High Density or Super Gel Inks, but have a much softer marshmallow-like quality. This effect is created by adding a puff additive to standard Plastisol Inks, which makes them rise like a freshly baked loaf of bread. :)

Combine this with Standard Plastisol Inks of the same color in a different screen to create texture within one solid fill area.

  • The most economical way to get a 3-D Look
  • PMS color matching. (Additional Fees May Apply)
Glow In The Dark Inks

Great for Halloweeen!

Put the spotlight on your designs with Glow-in-the-Dark Ink! Best used as an overprint with white or light-colored inks, this special effects ink is translucent and can be used over one specific area or all over your image. Because of the phosphorescence nature of this ink, the final print will have a slight green cast and Pantone matching is unavailable.

Glitter Inks

Give your design a little sparkle!

Glitter Inks are made of multicolor metallic flakes suspended in a clear Plastisol base and can be applied to your entire image or just one area.

Metallic Inks

Go heavy and drop some metal into your design.

Metallic Inks give you a subtle, unfinished sheen without the polished reflective shine of foil. Available in 14 different colors.
